Inspiration to Teach:
Growing up I had two sisters who were significantly younger than me. I helped them with their school work, and I did a lot of babysitting. I was around young children quite often. When I got to college I wasn't sure of what career I wanted to pursue, so I prayed to God to guide me on the right path. After many prayers and contemplation, I realized that teaching was the right path for me.

Teaching at Aquinas:
I enjoy the challenge of preparing my students for the transition from 8th grade to high school. I enjoy watching the growth and maturity of the students from the beginning of the school year to the end.

We have such an outstanding school system. Aquinas Catholic Schools are special to me because all three of my own children graduated from our system. They are proud to say they graduated from here, just as I am proud to say I teach here.

8th Grade Language Arts
The eighth grade curriculum provides opportunities for students to improve their writing, speaking, and listening skills through a variety of applications. Reasoning ability is utilized as students expand their writing to include problem-solving essays, persuasive compositions, and research papers. Through these writings students recognize their need for continuous study of grammar, mechanics, and usage. Students continue to develop oral communication skills through public speaking and oral presentations.
